Johnson and Sjostrand Earn All-American Honors on Final Day of NCAA Indoor Champs

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Simone Johnson earned First Team All-American honors and Emilia Sjostrand earned Second Team All-American honors in the Women’s Triple Jump, leading San José State Track & Field on the second and final day of the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships from Virginia Beach Sports Center on Saturday.

  • Johnson competing in the Women’s Triple Jump finished in eighth place with a mark of 13.40m (43-11¾).
  • Johnson, with her mark, earned herself first team All American status in Triple Jump.
  • Johnson has now earned All-American status in back-to-back-to-back indoor seasons
  • Sjostrand competing in her second event in as many days, finished in ninth place in the Women’s Triple Jump, with a mark of 13.31m (43-8). 
  • Sjostrand, with her mark, cemented her status as a Second-Team All-American in the Triple Jump. 
  • This is the third consecutive indoor season Sjostrand has earned All-American status in the triple jump. 
  • Sjostrand has earned All-American status in long jump and triple jump for the last three indoor seasons.  

UP NEXT: The Spartans will return home to rest and recover before jumping into the outdoor season at the Hornet Invite on March 22.
