LAS VEGAS - Amiah Simmons scored over 20 points for the ninth time this season, finishing with 24, while Rylei Waugh contributed 10 points of her own to lead San José State women’s basketball (10-20, 3-14 MW) in an 89-56 loss in their final road game of the regular season against UNLV (26-3, 16-1 MW) from Cox Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.

  • Simmons finished with 24 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists while going 7-20 from the field and 2-for-8 from behind the arc.  
  • Simmons has now scored over 20 points in nine games this season. 
  • Simmons has scored in double figures in 13 out of her last 14 games.
  • Waugh finished with 10 points to go, with one rebound, one assist, and one steal while going 3-for-8 from the field and 2-for-5 from three. 
  • Waugh has put up nine double-digit scoring performances this season. 
  • Sydni Summers added seven points with three rebounds and one assist. 
  • Amira Brown contributed seven points with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals while going 3-for-8 from the field.
  • Brown's two blocks set a new single game career high for the redshirt junior.
  • Djessira Diawara led the team with eight rebounds in this game.
  • Diawara has pulled down eight or more boards in eight games this season.
  • Diawara leads the team with 192 total rebounds this season.  
  • The Spartans pulled down 38 boards. 
  • SJSU scored 18 points in the paint.
