SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Christopher Coats ran a personal best in the Men’s 200m, placing himself on the SJSU all-time outdoor record book to lead San José State Track & Field on the first day of competition at the Hornet Invite hosted by Sacramento State on Friday.
The highlight of the meet came in the Men’s 200m, where Coats blazed to victory with a personal best of 20.65. With this performance, Coats now holds sole possession of fifth place in the SJSU all-time outdoor record book for the Men’s 200m.
In the Women’s Triple Jump, Jodeci Weems recorded a mark of 11.79m (38-08.25), while Camryn Clark followed closely with 11.48m (37-08.00). Both jumpers showcased consistency and determination in a competitive field.
On the track, the Women’s 400m Hurdles saw strong performances from Savana Dutton, who clocked a time of 1:03.22, and Ma’Nia Tidwell, finishing at 1:08.48.
For the Men’s 400m Hurdles, Marcel Bovell delivered a personal best time of 54.87, while Myles McFarland posted a solid 57.19.
In the Men’s 800m, Christopher Malone secured a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:52.05, demonstrating resilience in a deep field of competitors.
The Women’s 200m featured a strong showing from Alyssa Bean, who finished in sixth place with a time of 24.00.
In distance events, Nereyda Alvarez-Gonzalez clocked 18:21.50 in the Women’s 5000m, while Will Bujake posted a time of 15:07.38 in the Men’s 5000m.
