Spartans Shutout Colorado State in 1-0 Win

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Mia Reynolds threw her fifth complete game of the season in a shutout effort to lead San José State softball (13-15, 2-2 MW) in a tight 1-0 win over Colorado State (11-16, 2-2 MW) from Spartan Softball Complex on Friday evening.

Senior pitcher Reynolds delivered a commanding performance, striking out eight batters and allowing only two hits over seven shutout innings. Her dominance on the mound earned her the win, improving her record to 8-9 on the season.

The game’s lone run came in the third inning when Aneesa Almaguer reached base on a single up the middle and later scored on a fielder’s choice by Reina Zermeno. Despite multiple scoring opportunities, both teams were held in check by strong defensive play and excellent pitching.
