SAN JOSE, Calif.– Olaya Bances Iglesias and No. 118 Cheuk Ying Shek both won in straight sets in singles matches to lead San José State (13-1, 4-0 MW) in a 4-0 win against Colorado State (3-12, 1-3 MW) on Sunday afternoon.
- This is the second win in a row for the Spartans against Colorado State in regards to the last season
- As the Spartans improve to 13-1 this remains to be the best start since the 2020-21 season where they started 14-0
- Duru Durgun and Bances Iglesias battled relentlessly to earn the Spartans the doubles point, 7-6 (7-3)
- The duo is undefeated in doubles conference play and is on a five-match win streak
- Bances Iglesias quickly wrapped up her singles match, 6-0, 6-3
- She is now on a three-match win streak
- No. 118 Ying Shek closed out the match with an epic dual, 6-4, 6-2
- This is Ying Shek’s first win after a loss against Boise State
- Colorado State had five healthy players, forfeiting the third doubles match and sixth singles match
