SAN JOSE, Calif. – Win Scott tossed seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out a career-high 10 to lead the San José State baseball team (15-8, 4-2 MW) in a 2-0 victory over Air Force (7-16, 2-4 MW) at Excite Ballpark on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the series.
Scott (3-1) took the win. Tyler Albanese came on in relief and sealed the win, striking out four batters over the final two innings to earn his third save of the year.
All the scoring came in the third inning when Alex Fernandes and Zach Chamizo delivered RBI singles to give the Spartans the only runs they would need. Chamizo led the team with three hits, while Fernandes also recorded a hit, a run, and an RBI. The Spartans' defense committed no errors and limited Air Force to just two hits.
