STANFORD, Calif. – Ivan Barahona shot a 71 (+1) to lead the San José State men's golf team in the first round of The Goodwin on Thursday from the Stanford Golf Course, hosted by Stanford.
- Barahona led the Spartans by carding two birdies and finishing in a tie for 48th place.
- Zubair Firdaus and Jed Dy each shot 74 (+4), placing them in a tie for 92nd place.
- Keshav "KC" Mungali recorded a 75 (+5), tying for 111th place.
- Avinash Iyer registered an eagle on his way to a round of 77 (+7).
- Alaric Mercie De Soultrait, playing as an individual, withdrew due to injury.
- The highly competitive field of 30 at The Goodwin features 13 teams ranked in the national standings.
- The Spartans are tied for 22nd place after the first day with a +14.
