STANFORD, Calif. – Keshav "KC" Mungali fired an even-par 70 to lead the San José State men's golf team in the second round of The Goodwin on Friday at the Stanford Golf Course.
- Mungali carded four birdies on the day and improved significantly on the leaderboard, moving up 45 spots to a tie for 66th place with a total score of 145 (+5) after two rounds.
- Ivan Barahona continued to hold steady, posting a 73 (+3) in the second round for a total of 144 (+4), positioning him in a tie for 54th place.
- Zubair Firdaus also tallied four birdies while shooting a 73 (+3) on Friday. He now sits at 154 (+14) for the tournament, tying for 85th place.
- Jed Dy recorded a 76 (+6) in the second round and is tied for 119th place with a two-round total of 150 (+10). Avinash Iyer matched Dy’s total after shooting a 73 (+3) on Friday, also tying for 119th place.
- Alaric Mercie De Soultrait, competing as an individual, was forced to withdraw due to injury on Thursday.
- The highly competitive field of 30 at The Goodwin features 13 teams ranked in the national standings.
- As a team, the Spartans notched 17 birdies on Friday, improving their standing by three places to 19th on the leaderboard with a cumulative score of +23 after two rounds.
