Seven Spartans Earn All-MW Honors after Indoor Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2025 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team, which is composed of the top three finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams from the Mountain West Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Albuquerque.

SJSU won seven medals on Championship Saturday and 10 medals total across all three days of competition.

Emilia Sjostrand - Triple Jump

  • Sjostrand competing in the Women’s Triple Jump earned the gold medal with a mark of 14.01m(45' 11¾”)
  • Sjostrand now shares the number-one women’s triple jump spot in the nation with her mark. 
  • Sjostrand has won gold in the triple jump for three seasons in a row.
  • Sjostrand has now won five Mountain West indoor championship gold medals across women’s triple and long jump in her career.

Sky Hagan - 60m Dash 

  • Hagan in the Women’s 60m Dash won gold with a lifetime best and school record time of 7.32 seconds. 
  • Hagan broke her school record in the Women’s 60m Dash for the second straight race besting her previous personal best that she set the day before in prelims.

Simone Johnson - Triple Jump and Long Jump

  • Johnson competing in the Women’s Long Jump on Friday earned the silver medal with a personal best mark of 6.35m (20’ 10”).
  • Johnson's Mountain West indoor silver medal was the third of her career, she won back-to-back silvers in triple jump with San Diego State back in 2021 and 2022. 
  • Johnson in the Women’s Triple Jump on Saturday, grabbed the silver medal with a mark of 13.71m (44' 11¾").
  • Johnson’s silver was her second of the weekend after finishing second in the long jump on Friday.  
  • Johnson now has four Mountain West indoor championship silver medals for her career.

Ethan Fong - Triple Jump and Long Jump

  • Fong, competing in the Men’s Long Jump, earned the silver medal and first medal for the Spartans with a personal best mark of 7.18m (23’ 6¾”).
  • Fong, in the Men’s Triple Jump, earned bronze with a personal best mark of 14.85m (48' 8¾”) 
  • Fong won his second medal in as many days,  after grabbing silver in the long jump on Friday. 
  • Fong’s two medals are the first of his career.

DeShawn Banks - High Jump

  • Banks competing in the Men’s High Jump, the first event of the day, won silver with a mark of 2.09m (6' 10¼”). 
  • Banks medal is the first of his career.

Christopher Coats - 400m Dash

  • Coats running in the Men’s 400m Dash Final finished in second grabbing silver with a time of 46.66.
  • Coats has won silver in the 400m for two consecutive years now.

Katharina Graman - Triple Jump and Long Jump

  • Graman competed in the Women’s Long Jump, and earned the bronze medal with a season-best mark of  6.27m (20’ 7”).
  • Graman also competed in the Women’s Triple Jump would finish the Spartan podium sweep, and earned bronze with a personal best mark of 13.24m (43' 5¼”).
  • Graman grabbed her second bronze medal of the weekend after finishing third in the long jump on Friday.
  • Graman’s Mountain West indoor championships medals are the first of her career.
