Spartans Fall Against Colorado State on Senior Night

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Amiah Simmons finished with 21 points, her 10th 20-point performance of the season, while Sydni Summers added 16 points of her own and Amira Brown set a new career high in threes to lead San José State women’s basketball (10-21, 3-15 MW) in a 90-70 loss on Senior Night against Colorado State  (22-9, 13-5 MW) in their final game of the regular season from Provident Credit Union Event Center on Tuesday night.

  • Prior to tip-off, the Spartans held a ceremony recognizing their senior class Amiah Simmons, Finau Tonga, Hennie Van Schaik, Jasmine Singleton, Marisa Davis-Jones, and Djessira Diawara.
  • Simmons finished with 21 points, to go with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals while going 5-for-16 from the field and 3-for-8 from behind the arc. 
  • Simmons has now scored over 20 points in four consecutive games and 10 games overall this season. 
  • Simmons has scored in double figures in 14 out of her last 15 games.
  • Summers finished with 16 points to go with two rebounds and two assists while going 5-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from three.  
  • Summers is now No. 6 on the SJSU all-time single-season three-pointers made list (67).
  • Summers' 67 three-point field goals this season is a program sophomore record
  • Summers also sits at No. 5 on the all-time single-season three-point attempts list with 206. 
  • Brown scored 15 points with four rebounds, one block, and two steals while going 5-for-8 from the field and 4-for-5 from three. 
  • Brown set a new single-game career high with her four three-point field goals. 
  • Rylei Waugh had nine points, four rebounds, and three assists while going 1-for-3 from behind the arc.
  • Djessira Diawara and Hennie Van Schaik each pulled down 5 boards to lead the team. 
  • There have been 17 games this season where the Spartans have had three or more players score in double digits. 
  • The Spartans had 20 bench points tonight, they have scored more than 20 points off the bench in 13 games this season.
