SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State men’s water polo team will compete in The Pacific Cup, an elite eight spring invitational tourney, set to take place from April 12-13 in Stockton, Calif. Every match will be streamed on Overnght.
The Spartans will compete against Pepperdine in the first round of the tourney at 1:45 p.m. on April 12. Besides SJSU and Pepperdine, Cal, Cal Baptist, Pacific, Stanford, UCLA and the USA Junior National Team will all be competing in the event. Each of the eight participating teams will compete in three games despite the tournament style format.
Last season, the Spartans went 17-7 and made the WCC Tournament Championship game for the second consecutive season. In 2025, the Spartans return three All-Americans, Maro Tiozzo, Mateja Bosic and Brendon Gyapjas and have also added Liam Dodunski, who was recently awarded New Zealand’s Male Player of the Year.
