RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif.—Lucia Lopez Ortega and Moa Andersson shot under par in the first round of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championship and sit 1-2 on the individual leaderboard as San José State finished second in the team standings at 3-over 291.

  • Lopez Ortega leads the field after shooting a 3-under 69, her fifth round this season in the 60s.
  • After shooting an even-par 36 on the front nine, Lopez Ortega made three birdies and six pars over the final nine holes to card a 69.
  • She finished the round with a birdie on the par-5, 485-yard 18th hole after reaching the green in two shots.
  • Andersson shot a 2-under 70 and is tied for second with Nevada’s Anna Shultes.
  • Andersson made four birdies during her round and finished the round by making five consecutive pars.
  • Isabella Cioe is tied for 21st at 3-over 75, and made three birdies on the day.
  • Nicola Kaminski is tied for 28th at 5-over 77, finishing her round by making four consecutive pars.
  • Rebecca Gyllner shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 35th.
  • San José State, in second place, is three shots behind first-round leader Nevada who shot an even-par 288.
  • The Spartans are one shot ahead of UNLV and four shots in front of fourth-place Colorado State.
