LAS VEGAS – Cheuk Ying Shek won her singles and doubles matches to lead No. 6 seed San José State (16-6, 6-4 MW) in a 4-1 loss against No. 3 seed UNLV (17-6, 7-3 MW) Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Women's Tennis Championship from the Darling Tennis Center as their season comes to a close.
- Shek and Carla Urchoeguia won their doubles flight one match, 6-4, as the Spartans lost the doubles point
- Soledad Fayos Capilla and Emma Fantousis lost their doubles match 7-6 (7-3)
- Shek won her flight one singles match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4
- The Spartans lost in straight sets in three singles matches and had another one unfinished in the third set
- Two Spartans will graduate this May with their degree – Olaya Bances Iglesias and Urchoeguia
