SJSU's Nash and Lockhart Sign NFL Contracts

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State’s Nick Nash and Justin Lockhart each signed undrafted NFL free agent contracts on Saturday evening. Nash will be joining the Atlanta Falcons, while Lockhart signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nash, a wide receiver from Irvine, Calif., made history in 2024 by becoming the first SJSU player ever named a Biletnikoff Award Finalist. He also became just the fourth player in FBS history to achieve the prestigious receiving triple crown, leading the nation during the regular season in receptions (104), receiving yards (1,382), and receiving touchdowns (16). Nash topped all players with 8.7 receptions and 115.2 yards per game and showcased his versatility by throwing two touchdown passes.

Further cementing his legacy, Nash earned consensus All-American honors—the first Spartan ever to do so—and was the only wide receiver in 2024 to be a unanimous selection. His historic season solidified his place as one of the most decorated athletes in San José State history.

Lockhart, a wide receiver from Los Angeles, Calif., also made a strong comeback in 2024 after missing the previous season due to injury. He posted career-highs across the board with 53 receptions, 983 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. Lockhart led the Mountain West Conference in yards per reception (18.5), ranking 18th nationally. At San José State’s pro day, he impressed scouts by running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash.

San José State continues to make its mark at the professional level, having had six alumni on NFL rosters during the 2023 season.
