CRESWELL, Ore.Ivan Barahona and Avinash Iyer each posted a 208 (-8) to tie for ninth place individually and lead the San José State men's golf team to a strong fourth-place finish at the Mountain West Championship, held at Emerald Valley Golf Club. The Spartans concluded their season with a team score of 842 (-22), tying with Colorado State.

  • Iyer recorded his second eagle of the tournament on Sunday and closed with a 71 (-1) to secure his top-10 finish.
  • Barahona added two birdies on his way to an even-par 72 in the final round.
  • Zubair Firdaus also delivered a standout performance for the Spartans, carding an eagle and a 72 (E) on Sunday to finish with a 209 (-7), good for a tie for 14th place.
  • San José State’s three eagles in the tournament mark a season high and are the most in a single event for the program since their victory at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in October.
  • Keshav "KC" Mungali wrapped up his tournament with a 73 (+1) and finished tied for 39th place at 219 (+3), while Jed Dy placed tied for 51st after shooting a 226 (+10).
