SAN JOSE, Calif. – Ahmiya Noriega had another multi-hit performance while Gigi Ortega had an RBI to lead San José State softball (16-20, 4-7 MW) in a 5-1 loss against Utah State (23-15, 8-2 MW) from Spartan Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.

San José State struck early in the first inning when Reina Zermeno reached on a single and later scored on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch drawn by Ortega. The early lead gave the home crowd of 212, reason to cheer under sunny, 70-degree skies.
