NAPA, Calif.—Lucia Lopez Ortega finished tied for 14th to lead the San José State women’s golf team after the first round of the Chevron Silverado Showdown Monday at the Silverado Country Club and Resort. The Spartans are tied for 13th at 14-over 302.
- Lopez Ortega shot an even-par 72 for the round, starting and ending with birdies and making another on par-5, 544-yard 11th hole.
- Moa Andersson is tied for 38th at 3-over 75, making an eagle on the par-5, 462-yard ninth hole, the only eagle by the field during the round.
- Rebecca Gyllner is tied for 54th at 5-over 77.
- Nicola Kaminski shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 63rd. She made nine pars and two birdies on the day.
- Isabella Cioe is 88th at 13-over 85.
- Tessa Kremser, playing as an individual is 87th with a 12-over 84.
- The Spartans ended the day tied with San Francisco in the team standings.
UP NEXT – Second round action begins at 8:30 a.m. with tee times off of holes 1 and 10. The Spartans begin the round off of the 10th tee beginning at 9:42 a.m.
