FRESNO, Calif. – Alex Fernandes recorded his sixth hit of the series to lead the San José State baseball team (24-26, 11-15 MW) in a 10-0 loss to Fresno State (25-25, 16-10 MW) at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the second game of a three game series.
David Thomas (1-4) took the loss for the Spartans, allowing eight runs over 5.1 innings. Cade Cushing worked the final two outs of the sixth, surrendering two runs. Defensively, the Spartans turned a pair of double plays.
- Fernandes is now 6-for-9 in the series after tallying a career-high five hits in the series opener
- Zach Chamizo extended his hitstreak to 12 games and on base streak to 18 games
- Rocco Caballero's on base streak of 16 games comes to an end
- The Spartans left two on base
