LOUISVILLE, Ky. - San José State junior infielder Ahmiya Noriega has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Third Team All-Region West as announced by the organization on Thursday, marking the first NFCA All-Region selection of her career.
Noriega, a standout infielder from San Jose, Calif. (Silver Creek HS), a 2025 All-Mountain West First Team selection, delivered an exceptional junior campaign serving as the everyday shortstop, leading the Spartans to their second Mountain West Tournament appearance in three seasons. She batted .352 on the year, tallying 56 hits, including two home runs and a conference-leading 10 triples. Her 10 triples not only tied for the lead in the nation but also matched the second-highest single-season total in program history, equaling Valeri Quintero’s mark from 1997.
Noriega is the first SJSU player to be named an NFCA Division I All-Region selection since Jenessa Ullegue in 2023.
