The No. 6 seed San José State baseball (26-28, 13-17 MW) will play the No. 3 seed New Mexico (30-22, 17-13 MW) in the first round of the Mountain West Championship on Wednesday, May 21, at 1:05 p.m. at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona on Mountain West Network.
- The Spartans are looking for their second Mountain West Championship in three seasons and are also looking for their fourth trip in a row to the Mountain West title game.
- EJ McGrew will start on the mound for SJSU while New Mexico will go with LHP Daxton Purser
- The winner of tomorrow’s game will face the No. 2 seed Fresno State on Thursday at 6:05 p.m.
- The Spartans went 1-2 in their series vs. New Mexico earlier this season in Albuquerque, N.M.
- The Spartans defeated New Mexico 8-5 in their first game of the Mountain West Championship last season
