SAN JOSE, Calif. - Yaphet Moundi, a 6-8 forward transfer from Iona University, will join the San José State men’s basketball team for the 2025-26 season, as announced by head coach Tim Miles.

- Joins the Spartans for his senior season
- Averaged 9.8 points and 7.4 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game at Iona last season
- Helped lead Iona to a 17-17 record and to an appearance in the MAAC championship game
- Had six double-doubles last season, including a 25 point-20 rebound game in an 87-64 win over Fairfield University
- Ranked top 20 nationally in both offensive rebounding percentage and defensive rebounding percentage, according to KenPom
- Ranked in the 98th percentile in overall defense according to Synergy
- Opponents shot just 24 percent against him when he was the primary defender
- Played at Panola College his freshman and sophomore seasons
- Helped Panola win 55 games across two seasons, including a trip to the 2024 NJCAA Division I men’s basketball championship
- Ranked 21st in jucorating’s top 100 junior college player rankings, averaging 14.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game during the 2023-2024 season
