COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West Conference announced Thursday that San José State University football will have at least 10 nationally televised games during the 2025 regular season, underscoring continued national interest in the Spartans’ program.
"This is a very competitive schedule for the 2025 season," said Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "We have some great quality opponents coming into CEFCU Stadium and San Jose. Always great to have at least 10 or more nationally televised games, including the possibility of being on one of the big four networks for the third season in a row. I'm excited for the football season to get going, and I think great things are in store for the Spartans in 2025."
The Spartans will kick off the season under the lights at CEFCU Stadium on Friday, Aug. 29, hosting Central Michigan at 7:30 p.m. on FS1. The following week, SJSU heads to Austin to face top-ranked Texas on Saturday, Sept. 6, with the game slated for a 9:00 a.m. (PT) kickoff on ABC or ESPN, marking the fourth consecutive season the Spartans have appeared on one of the two major national networks.
In total, five games have been picked up by the FOX Sports family of networks, including three with potential elevation to FOX’s flagship channel for national coverage — the most FOX-affiliated broadcasts for the Spartans since 2021.
The Spartans also have four games on CBS Sports Network, including at home against Hawai‘i at 7:30 p.m. on San Francisco Giants Day Presented by Habbas Law. The four games are the most on CBS Sports Network since 2023.
San José State will play three Friday night games, including a Homecoming matchup against New Mexico on Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m., which will be seen on FS1, presented by El Camino Health. This marks the fifth straight season the Spartans have hosted a Friday night contest at CEFCU Stadium. Notably, the CMU game will be the program’s first Friday season opener since 2012 at Stanford, and the first Friday season home opener since 1960 against BYU.
Locally, fans can catch the Spartans on NBC Sports Bay Area when they host Idaho on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2:00 p.m., marking the fifth consecutive season San José State has appeared on the regional network. That game will also be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
This is the first time since 2021 that all of the Spartans' Mountain West Conference games will be televised nationally.
Additional broadcast information for the Sept. 27 game at Stanford and kickoff times for the remainder of the schedule will be released in the coming months.
