Tarver Earns Second-Team All-American on Day One of NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Cameron Tarver finished fifth in his heat and 14th overall in the Men’s 200m semifinal to earn Second-Team All-American status but just missing the cut for Friday’s final to lead San José State Track & Field after the men kicked off competition on day one at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Oregon on Wednesday from Hayward Field.   

Tarver ran in the third heat of the Men’s 200m semifinals, where he would finish fifth in his heat and the 14th overall time with a 20.55, just missing the cut for Friday’s final, but did cement his status as an NCAA Second Team All-American to cap off a great junior season.

  • Tarver’s performance in the Men’s 200m semifinals cemented his status as an NCAA Second Team All-American this season. 
  • This is Tarver’s first time earning individual All-American honors, and his second consecutive season he has earned second-team All-American status overall after earning second-team honors as part of the men’s 4x100 relay squad last season. 
  • This was Tarver’s fifth straight 200m race running sub-20.60 seconds. 
  • 2025 Mountain West Men’s 200m champion Tarver’s personal best time of 20.52 seconds in the 200m, which he set earlier this season at the MW Outdoor Championships, sits third on the SJSU Men’s All-Time Outdoor Record Book in the 200m.
