SAN JOSE, Calif. - This Week in San José State Athletics returns to see what's ahead for the Spartans!
Track and Field
The San José State track & field team will send five athletes in total, four women and one man, to compete at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Wednesday through Saturday, June 11-14. The competition will kick off with men’s events on Wednesday, starting at 12:00 p.m. PST from Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore. The events can be seen on ESPN+.

- Competition will start with the semi-final rounds on Wednesday for the men and Thursday for the women.
- The semi-finals will consist of the top 24 athletes from the west and east preliminary rounds across both individual and relay events with the top nine times advancing on to the final rounds on Friday and Saturday.

SJSU will send five athletes to compete in the Women’s Triple Jump, 100m Hurdles, and the Men’s 200m at these outdoor championships.
- Emilia Sjostrand, Simone Johnson, and Katharina Graman will compete in the Women's Triple Jump, while Sky Hagan will compete in the Women's 100m Hurdles, and Cameron Tarver will run in the Men's 200m.
- Speed City has now sent athletes to the NCAA first rounds and national meet across the last five indoor and outdoor seasons, dating back to early 2023.
- Sjostrand and Tarver will be returning to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after making the trip last season for the Spartans.
- Sjostrand earned first-team All-American honors in the Triple jump and second-team All-American honors in the Long Jump last season.
- Tarver earned second-team All-American honors last season at the NCAA national meet as part of SJSU’s men’s 4x100 Relay squad.
- Johnson will be making the trip to outdoor nationals for the second time in her career, She earned Second Team All-American honors in the triple jump back in 2023.
- For Graman and Hagan, this will be the first trip of their careers to nationals.
- Hagan and Graman both set new personal bests at the NCAA West Prelims on their way to qualifying for the national meet. Graman with a mark of 13.05m in the triple jump and Hagan with a time of 13.14 in the 100m hurdles.
- All five athletes earned All-Mountain West honors this season after top-three individual finishes at the 2025 MW Outdoor Championships.
