PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - In a dramatic conclusion to three days of high-level amateur golf, San José State senior Avinash Iyer captured the NCGA (Northern California Golf Association) Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. Ken Venturi was the last SJSU men's golfer to capture the title in 1952.

  • Final Score: 9-under-par 204 (Rounds of 68-67-69)
  • Winning Margin: Two strokes over NCGA veteran Matt Cohn
  • Key Moment: On the 18th hole, tied at 8-under: 
    • Both players found the left fairway bunker off the tee
