Spartans drop home opener against CSUN

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Paige Fry tied her career high of seven saves to lead the San Jose State women’s soccer team (0-2-0) in its home opener of the 2025 season, a 1-0 loss to CSUN (1-0-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Spartan Soccer Complex.

CSUN got on the board in the seventh minute. Analise Martins, Kiara Anima and Charlotte Memoly each challenged the CSUN goalkeeper, but the Spartans were unable to find the equalizer.

  • This game marked the home debut of head coach Sonia Curvelo
  • Fry tied her career high of seven saves, previously set in the Spartans' last game against No. 16 Santa Clara
  • Keely Brown and Carmen Hinton both made their season debuts
