BALTIMORE - San José State quarterback Walker Eget has been named to the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation announced Tuesday.

Eget, a California native, started a career-high seven games in 2024, throwing for 2,504 yards on 188 completions with 13 touchdowns. He helped lead the Spartans to their program-record third consecutive bowl appearance and a memorable Thanksgiving weekend victory over Stanford.

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award is presented annually to the nation’s top senior or upperclassman quarterback on track to graduate with their class. The award recognizes players who demonstrate the traits exemplified by Unitas himself—integrity, tenacity, leadership, and excellence both on and off the field.

Eget is the first Spartan named to the Golden Arm Award Watch List since Nick Starkel in 2020.
