SAN JOSE, Calif.—Lolo Fonua led the Spartans with 11 kills as the San José State volleyball team fell to UC Santa Barbara, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 30-28) Saturday afternoon inside Spartan Gym.
- Fonua is the only Spartan with double-digit kills in a match this season.
- Sariah Johnson added eight kills and hit .333 for the match (8-3-15).
- Fatimah Hall recorded 21 assists and nine digs.
- Nazare Judd led the team with 10 digs.
- The Spartans recorded six aces by six different players.
- There were 10 lead changes in the second and third sets.
- The Spartans hit .355 in the second set (14-3-31).
- In set three, San José State had set points at 26-25 and 27-26.
UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Hawaii for the OUTRIGGER Invitational, September 3-5, to face Utah Valley, Hawaii and St. John’s.
