SAN DIEGO - Sam Keightley recorded four goals and an assist to lead the No. 10 San José State men’s water polo team (3-1, 0-0 WCC) in a 20-13 loss to No. 2 USC (4-0, 0-0 MPSF) in the final day of the Triton Invitational.
- Sam Keightley has recorded 11 goals, four assists, three steals and drew 14 exclusions across four games at the Triton Invitational
- Mateja Bosić tallied five points in the match, consisting of three goals and two assists
- Mitchell Keightley registered three assists
- Erik Duesund and Samu Biros each scored twice in the match
- Laszlo Szieben and Nathan Correia both scored a goal while Maro Tiozzo recorded an assist
- Brendon Gyapjas saved eight shots in net for the Spartans
- Gyapjas notched 31 saves across three starts at the Triton Invitational, all against ranked opponents
UP NEXT: The Spartans will head to Davis, California to compete in the Aggie Invitational on Sept. 6. The Spartans will compete in an exhibition against American River College at 11:30 a.m. before facing UC Davis at 3 p.m.
