This marks the Spartans’ first appearance on ABC since 2006, continuing a strong run of national exposure. It’s the third straight season SJSU has been featured on one of the “big four” networks, and the fourth consecutive year the program has appeared on ESPN or ABC.

- Texas is the highest-ranked opponent for the Spartans since they played No. 6 USC in 2023.
- The Spartans last played at 9:00 a.m. (PT)/11:00 a.m. (CT) at Iowa State on Sept. 24, 2016.
- The Spartans’ highest-ranked win was defeating No. 9 TCU at home 27-24 on Nov. 4, 2000.
- The Spartans last beat a road-ranked team on Nov. 1, 1980, in a 30-22 win over No. 10/11 Baylor.
- SJSU has three road-ranked wins in its history, including a 36-34 victory at No. 18 Stanford on Sept. 27, 1975, which was televised on ABC.
- The Spartans’ last win over a "power four" school was last season against Stanford in a 34-31 home victory on Nov. 29.
- SJSU last beat an SEC school in 2019 when the Spartans beat Arkansas on the road, 31-24, and that was also their latest win over a "power four" school on the road.
- Newcomer Danny Scudero had nine catches for 189 yards and one touchdown in his SJSU debut vs. Central Michigan (8/29). That is the most yards for an SJSU wide receiver in their debut this century.
- Jordan Pollard ended with 15 tackles against Central Michigan (8/29). He is ranked second in the conference and fifth in the nation.
- Pollard's 15 tackles were the third most in the country during week one.
- The game against Central Michigan (8/29) was the first time in the SJSU Ken Niumatalolo era where the Spartans didn't have a takeaway.
- Four of the seven losses in the Niumatalolo era have been by seven points or less, and three of the seven losses by two points.
- Larry Turner-Gooden joined the Spartans in 2024 from Texas, and Leland Smith, who joined the Spartans in 2025 from Purdue, is from Houston.
- Walker Eget is tops in the MW and 13th in the country, averaging 308 passing yards per game.
- Floyd Chalk IV led the Spartans with 44 rushing yards on 11 carries against Central Michigan (8/29).
