This marks the Spartans’ fifth straight season with a game on NBC Sports Bay Area.

- Punter Trent Carrizosa was named to the Ray Guy Award's Ray's Eight for week two. Carrizosa landed three punts inside the 20-yard line and delivered a 56-yard punt at No. 6 Texas (9/6). In week one against CMU (8/29), Carrizosa had a career-long 68-yard punt.
- After two games, the Spartans are second in the MW, averaging 246 passing yards per game and 53rd in the country.
