SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State Athletics will have a program-record 20 games televised on NBC Sports Bay Area during the 2025-26 season, highlighted by the Sept. 20 football matchup against Idaho at 2:00 p.m. from CEFCU Stadium and the 2025 Sammy Awards on Sept. 20 at 1:00 p.m. before the Idaho matchup.
Calling the football action will be ABC 7’s Larry Beil, SJSU football legend David Fales, and sports reporter Lindsey Pallares. This marks the fifth consecutive season that an SJSU football game will air on NBC Sports Bay Area.
“This expanded partnership with NBC Sports Bay Area is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the talent, passion, and spirit of Spartan student-athletes,” said Scott MacDonald, SJSU Senior Deputy AD for External Operations. “Having a record number of broadcasts gives our teams even greater visibility across the Bay Area and allows our alumni and fans to stay connected wherever they are.”
In addition to football, NBC Sports Bay Area will showcase a wide range of Spartan athletics this year, including women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, women’s gymnastics, and more.
The network will also air the fourth season of The Charge, SJSU’s all-access program, along with the 2026 edition of the Sammy Awards as well.
San José State has earned national recognition for its broadcast and media efforts, being named a finalist at the Sports Video Group (SVG) College Media Awards in each of the last four years—including a school record of three finalist nods in 2025.
