Gyapjas Named to Cutino Award Watch List

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Spartan goalkeeper Brendon Gyapjas has been named to the Cutino Award Watch list, announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Thursday morning. The Peter J. Cutino Award recognizes the best player in men's water polo nationally. Gyapjas is one of 20 players across the nation who were named to the watch list.

So far this season, Gyapjas has played five games in goal for the Spartans and has recorded 52 saves. The Spartans are currently the fifth ranked team in the country and will face No. 4 Stanford this Friday at noon at the SRAC.

  • Scored two goals against No. 8 Pepperdine in the WCC Tournament semifinals (11/23/24)
  • Tallied 18 saves against No. 16 Cal Baptist to lead the Spartans to the first-ever West Coast Conference Championship title in 2023
