Spartans Draw Result Against UNLV in MW Opener

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Paige Pineda-Aliamus led the San José State women’s soccer team (1-7-1, 0-0-1 MW) with her third goal on the season in a 2-2 draw against UNLV (2-6-2, 0-0-1 MW) to open Mountain West play on the road.

Leslie Jacobo-Duran scored her first career goal in the 7th minute and Pineda-Aliamus added to the score just before halftime to give SJSU a 2–1 lead. The Rebels equalized in the 80th minute to secure the draw.

  • This is the first MW match for head coach Sonia Curvelo
  • This is the first time since Oct. 8, 2023, against Colorado State, the Spartans have scored multiple goals in a conference game
  • Paige Fry secured seven saves on the night
  • Charlotte Memoly made the second assist of her career on the Pineda-Aliamus goal
  • Maryam Ladkani, Analise Martins, Amaya Cabrales-Estrada, Jacobo-Duran and Pineda-Aliamus each tallied shots
  • The Spartans' 14 shots are the second-highest of the season
