SAN JOSE, Calif.– Mitchell Keightley and László Szieben scored two goals each to lead the No. 5 San José State men's water polo team (4-3, 0-0 WCC) in a 12-5 loss against No. 4 Stanford (7-2, 0-0 MPSF) on Friday afternoon.
- Samu Biros also contributed to the score, netting one goal
- Giancarlo Marquez tallied a team high of seven shots, while Keightley and Maro Tiozzo shot four, Szieben and Biros three, Mateja Bosić two and Mael Suchet and Aiden Johnson one
- Tiozzo, Keightley, Eric Ellison, Zalan Hegedus and Zach Ramans each supplied one assist
- In goal, Brendon Gyapjas racked up 12 saves
- Keightley gained a game high of five steals
- Spartans' top scorer Sam Keightley did not participate in the match
- The Spartans later faced West Valley College in an exhibition match and won 15-10
