Mungali Shoots 64 to Lead Spartans in First Day of the Jim DeLapa Collegiate

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.Keshav "KC" Mungali fired rounds of 64 (-6) and 68 (-2) for a 132 (-8) to finish the first day in second place overall, leading the San José State men’s golf team through the opening two rounds of the Jim DeLapa Collegiate, hosted by Central Michigan at Point O’Woods Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

The Spartans wrapped up the day tied for third with a 556 (-4).

Mungali’s opening-round 64 (-6) was his best since carding a 63 (-8) at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Oct. 7, 2024, and he tied for the low round of the day. He tallied seven birdies in the first round and three more in the second, putting him just two strokes off the lead heading into Monday’s final round.

Ivan Barahona matched rounds of 67 (-3) to sit in fourth place at 134 (-6). He notched five birdies in the first round and four in the second.
