SAN JOSE, Calif.— Freshman Taejah Aitken scored her first career goal as the San José State women's soccer team (1-5-0, 0-0-0 MW) fell 3-1 to Cal Poly (2-0-5, 0-0-0 Big West) on Thursday evening at the Spartan Soccer Complex, presented by Habana Cuba.
The Mustangs scored twice in the first half, with goals in the 26th and 35th minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
Aiteken headed one into the back of the net off a cross from Charlotte Memoly to make it 2-1. The Mustangs would ultimately score a third goal to secure the match.

- Bente Pernot recorded five saves in goal for the Spartans
- Four total Spartans had a shot on goal: Paige Pineda-Aliamus, Memoly, Amaya Cabrales-Estrada and Aitken
- Memoly recorded her first career assist
- Analise Martins was the only Spartan to play the full 90 minutes
