SAN JOSE, Calif.—A new era in San José State women’s basketball begins the 2025-26 season under new head coach Jonas Chatterton with the unveiling of the season schedule.
Spartan fans can get a sneak peek of the team with an exhibition game against Jessup on Wednesday, October 29, inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center (PCUEC).- The non-conference schedule features teams from the Big XII, Big West, WAC, WCC, Big Sky, Big Ten and the ACC.
- San José State opens the regular season on Saturday, November 8, at Big XII foe BYU.
- The Spartans will also play at Washington and California in December.
- The Mountain West portion of the schedule begins on December 17 with a road trip to Wyoming.
- After hosting Grand Canyon for the first time in school history on December 28, the Spartans end 2025 with a New Year’s Eve game at Utah State.
- SJSU starts 2026 hosting New Mexico on January 3rd and plays three home games in the first 14 days of the new year.
- The Spartans will look to draw folks to the PCUEC during Super Bowl week with games against fellow CSU schools, Fresno State on February 4th, and San Diego State on the 7th.
- San José State ends the regular season with a home game against Colorado State on March 3.
- The 2025-26 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, March 7-10. The championship game will air on CBS Sports Network.
- The MW will utilize a 20-game format for the 2025-26 season. Each institution will play 10 home games and make 10 road trips during the Conference season. Each team will play nine opponents twice and two opponents once (one home, one away). The Spartans will play at Wyoming (Dec. 17) and host UNLV (Jan. 14) as the only two teams they will face once.
