SAN JOSE, Calif.—Learden Lee led the Spartan hitting attack on Saturday as the San José State volleyball team won 3-1 (19-25, 27-25, 25-15, 25-17) over New Mexico in a Mountain West match at Spartan Gym.
- Lee hit a team-best .345 with a career-best 14 kills on 29 attempts and only four errors.
- Morgan Graves recorded her 11th match with double-figure kills with 12.
- Fatimah Hall recorded her second consecutive double-double and ninth of the season with 41 assists and 11 digs.
- The Spartans outblocked the Lobos, 15-4, led by Ava Hewitt-Smith with eight, two solo and six assists. Graves added five blocks, four solo and an assist. Hall had four blocks (1-3), while Mariana Buchanan added three block assists.
- Talita Gonçalves led the team with 13 digs, followed by Nazare Judd with 12 and Randilyn Reeves at seven.
- After falling 25-19 in the first set, San José State (10-11, 5-5) fought off two Lobo set points before taking the lead at 26-26 and scoring the winning point on a Lolo Fonua service ace.
- The Spartans took the lead for good at 5-4 in the third set on a Morgan Castaneda service ace and won 25-14 on Halle Kerkman’s second kill of the set.
- SJSU led from the very first serve of the fourth set to win 25-17 on Fonua’s ninth kill of the match.
