LAHAINA, Hawai‘i - Jed Dy recorded two eagles and Avinash Iyer added another to lead the San José State men’s golf team in the opening round of the Ka‘anapali Classic by OUTRIGGER, played Monday at the Royal Ka‘anapali Golf Course.
- The Spartans posted a team score of 276 (-8) and sit tied for eighth in the 19-team field after the first round.
- Iyer carded a 67 (-4) to finish the day tied for 10th place individually.
- Dy followed with a 69 (-2), good for a tie for 34th.
- Keshav “KC” Mungali and Ivan Barahona each shot a 70 (-1), placing them in a tie for 51st.
- Christian Maggard turned in a 71 (E) to tie for 72nd.
- Competing as independents, Ben Friedman shot a 72 (+1) to tie for 85th, and Itai Cohen finished with a 77 (+6).
