SAN JOSE, Calif. – Maryam Ladkani had a career-high six shots to lead the San José State women’s soccer team (1-8-3, 0-1-3 MW) in a hard-fought 1–0 loss to Grand Canyon (7-5-0, 2-2-0 MW) on Sunday afternoon at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
After a scoreless first half, Grand Canyon found the breakthrough in the 48th minute. The Spartans tallied 18 shots on the day, which is now their second-highest on the season.
- This game marks the end of the three-game result streak for the Spartans
- Kiara Anima, Charlotte Memoly each tested the keeper twice, while Ladkani had four shots on goal
- Paige Pineda-Aliamus, Amaya Cabrales-Estrada, Leslie Jacobo-Duran, Sophia Sick and Gabrielle Germain each recorded at least one shot
- Paige Fry, Analise Martins, Pineda-Aliamus and Memoly played the entire 90 minutes
- Fry collected four saves
