SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State football (2–3, 1–0 Mountain West) heads to Wyoming (2-3, 0-1 Mountain West) on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (PT) on CBS Sports Network and KTRB 860 AM.

- The Spartans look for their fourth straight win over Wyoming and their seventh win over the Cowboys in their last eight games.
- SJSU comes off a 35-28 win over New Mexico (10/03), where they had 334 passing yards and 153 rushing yards, and are 1-0 in MW play for the second season in a row.
- In the Spartans' two wins, SJSU has averaged 175.5 rushing yards and 278 passing yards. The Spartans averaged 88.1 rushing yards per game a year ago.
- The Spartans are averaging 7.74 yards per play in their last three games.
- Against New Mexico (10/03), Walker Eget went 26-of-30 for 334 yards and three touchdowns.
- Eget completed 86.7 percent of his passes against New Mexico (10/03). The SJSU record for best completion percentage with at least 25 passing attempts was Kyle Reed, who completed 88.5 percent of his passes on Sept. 20, 2008.
- According to Stats Perform, the only other two Mountain West players in conference history to hit 334 passing yards and an 86.7 completion percentage in the same game are Derek Carr (11/24/2012) and Kellen Moore (10/15/2011), both of whom went on to win MW Offensive Player of the Year in those respective seasons.
- According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Eget was the 10th highest-rated quarterback in week six with a grade of 86.6.
- In the past two games, Eget is 62-for-88 (70.5%) for 807 yards (403.5 per game), with six touchdowns and no interceptions.
- Danny Scudero, a San Jose native, leads the country in receiving yards (665) and receiving yards per game (133). He is also second in the country and first in the MW, averaging eight receptions per game, and leads the MW with four touchdown receptions.
- Scudero has gone over 100 receiving yards in four out of five games at SJSU.
- According to PFF, Scudero is the second highest-ranked offensive player for the Spartans with a 78.5 grade. Eget is just below with a 78.4 grade.
- The Spartans had their first of the season Old Trapper MW Football Player of the Week (10/06) honors following the New Mexico game. Eget was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Jalen Bainer was named Defensive Player of the Week. It was the first MW weekly honors for both, and the first time since Sept. 23, 2019, that the Spartans had both an offensive and defensive winner in the same week.
- Eget was also named a Manning Award Star of the Week (10/06) following the New Mexico game.
- Bainer had a career-best two interceptions (tied for most in a game this season) against New Mexico (10/03), plus a career-best nine tackles to lead the team and his first career sack.
- Bainer is the first Spartan to record two interceptions in the same game since Brandon Ezell on Oct. 4, 2019, also against New Mexico.
- Five of the nine losses in the Ken Niumatalolo era have been by seven points or less, and four of the nine losses by two points or less. The Spartans have led in seven of those nine games.
- After five games, the Spartans are first in the MW, averaging 304.2 passing yards per game and 17th in the country.
- Eget is first in the MW and fourth in the country, averaging 304.2 passing yards per game.
- Eget is first in the MW and seventh in the country, averaging 24 completions per game.
- The Spartans have recorded a takeaway in 17 of 18 games under Niumatalolo and haven't had a non last second desperate turnover since the first quarter against Idaho (9/20), and an interception hasn't been thrown since week two at Texas (9/20).
- The three games without an interception are the longest in Eget's career.
- In 2025, the Spartans' defense is allowing a third-down conversion rate of 33.3% which is good for third in the MW and 34th in the country. No. 6 Texas (9/6) went 2-for-12 on third downs against the Spartans, and Stanford (9/27) went 3-for-13.
- In 2024, the Spartans were 120th in the country on allowing third-down conversions with a rate of 46.2%.
