SAN JOSE, Calif. - Angel Iniguez was named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Week, announced by TDS on Tuesday. Iniguez is one of 11 players across the country to make the team.
In the Spartans 3-1 conference opening victory over #RV Cal Baptist, Iniguez contributed to all three of the Spartans' goals. Iniguez assisted on two of the Spartans' goals, both off of set pieces. Iniguez also scored his third goal of the season from a sensational shot just beyond the corner of the box. Iniguez's four points in the game was a season-high and tied the most points recorded in a game this season for SJSU. Iniguez has scored in back-to-back games and in three of his last four games.
At 8-1-2 this season, the Spartans are off to their best start through 11 games since 2000. The Spartans will next head to Saint George, Utah to compete against Utah Tech on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. The match can be watched on ESPN+
