RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Arnold Matshazi scored the game-winning golden goal in overtime to lead the fourth seeded San José State men’s soccer team (12-3-4, 3-2-2 WAC) in a 3-2 victory over the one seed #RV California Baptist (10-4-3, 4-2-1 WAC) in the WAC Tournament Semifinals from CBU Stadium.
After falling behind in the 33rd minute, the Spartans leveled the match just before halftime. Dane Pendleton headed in his first goal of his career off a corner in the 42nd minute off assists from Angel Fernandez and Gilberto Rivera, sending the teams into the break knotted at 1–1.
San José State grabbed the lead midway through the second half when Angel Iniguez fired home his ninth goal of the year off a stellar free kick in the 69th minute. But the Lancers responded just three minutes later, to make it 2–2.
