HOUSTON, Texas—The Spartans recorded four top-10 individual finishes as the San José State women’s swimming and diving team finished competing at the Phill Hansel Invitational on Friday.
- Vilma Lindberg had the best finish, placing fifth in the 200 breaststroke with a season-best 2:14.43.
- Karlee Marusik was seventh in the 200 backstroke at 2:00.51, placing her among the top-10 all-time at seventh.
- Genevieve George finished eighth at 2:00.88 in the 200 butterfly, followed by Lillie Grover who won the “B” final heat at 2:00.04 to place ninth.
- The 400 freestyle relay team of Lillie Grover, Mya Azzopardi, Nikki Lahey and Keira Vail finished sixth at 3:21.81, the eighth-fastest time in school history.
UP NEXT – After a break for finals and the New Year, the Spartans jump back in the pool with a dual meet at Cal State East Bay on Friday, January 9, at 1 p.m.
