USAFA, Colo. - The second seeded and ninth ranked Spartans will face No. 10 and third seeded Pepperdine today at 12 p.m. in the WCC Tournament Semifinals on ESPN+ in Cadet Natatorium at USAFA, Colo.
The Spartans are looking to return to the WCC Tournament Final for the third year in a row and win their second WCC title in the last three seasons. Since joining the WCC in 2023 they have made appearances in the WCC tournament every year, and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2023.
The Spartans finished the regular season with a record of 11-7 and ranked No. 9 nationally. The Spartans were named WCC Co-Regular Season Champions after finishing with a conference record of 5-1. Goalie Brendon Gyapjas was named WCC Player of the Year and All-WCC First Team, making him the first Spartan ever to be named WCC Player of the Year. Sam Keightley and Samu Biros were named to the All-WCC Second Team, and Keightley was also named to the All-WCC Freshman Team. Mateja Bosić received an All-WCC Honorable Mention.
With a victory, the Spartans will then face the winner of the match between No. 15 [5] Cal Baptist and No. 6 [1] Pacific. in the WCC Championship match on Sunday, Nov. 23 at noon PT on ESPN+.
