RENO, Nev.—Naima Foster and Morgan Castaneda recorded double-digit kills, and Ava Hewitt-Smith continued her climb up the San José State single-season solo blocks list as the Spartan volleyball team won 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-12) at Nevada Saturday afternoon.
- Foster led the team with 13 kills.
- Castaneda had a season-best 12 kills as she hit. 526 for the match (12-2-19).
- Hewitt-Smith recorded four solo blocks in the win, increasing her season total to 33. She led the team with five blocks.
- She moved into seventh on the SJSU single-season solo list and needs just one to move into sixth place with Gayle Olsen (1983).
- Learden Lee and Fatimah Hall each recorded three blocks in the win.
- Hewitt-Smith hit .412 for the match with nine kills.
- Lolo Fonua added eight kills as she hit .312 (8-3-16).
- Talita Goncalves led the Spartan defense with 23 digs, her fourth 20+ dig match of the season.
- Randilyn Reeves and Nazare Judd each had two service aces for SJSU.

UP NEXT– The Spartans return to Spartan Gym for the final two home matches of the 2025 season. SJSU hosts Boise State on Thursday, the 13th, at 6 p.m., followed by Utah State on Saturday, the 15th at noon. The Spartan seniors will be honored prior to the match with the Aggies on Saturday.
