NORTHRIDGE, Calif.— Cristina Mateos Losada and Katarina Brajovic each won in their singles matches to lead the San José State women's tennis team on the final day of the CSUN Invitational on Sunday afternoon. This marks the conclusion of the Spartans' fall season.
On the final day of the invite, the Spartans competed against Long Beach State in doubles and LMU and Pacific in singles.
- Mateos Losada defeated her opponent in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0.
- Brajovic won in a three-set match, 6-2, 3-6, 11-9.
- Soledad Fayos Capilla fell short in a tight three-set match against LMU's Ada Piestrzynska, 6-2, 5-7, 6-7 (3).
- Emma Fantousis was bested by LMU's Anastasia Bozova, 3-6, 6-7 (4).
- Duru Durgun fought diligently but fell to LMU's Kim Zahraj in three sets, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 0-6
- Tara Mihaljevic dropped her singles match in three sets against LMU's Camilia Samel-Druz, 6-3, 3-6, 3-6.
- Mateos Losada and doubles partner Fayos Capilla fell short 7-5.
- Durugn and Brajovic were bested, 6-4.
- Fantousis and Mihaljevic came up short, 6-4.
