LOGAN, Utah—Maya Anderson led Spartans in scoring, and Amira Brown recorded her second double-double of the season as the San José State women’s basketball team fell at Utah State, 74-61, Wednesday afternoon at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
- Anderson scored 23 points in the game, her second time in three games with 20+ points. She scored 15 of her 23 points in the third quarter, going 6-for-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range.
- Amira Brown recorded her second double-double of the season and third of her career with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, including seven offensive boards.
- Three Spartans scored in double figures for the fifth time this season as Stella Sgro scored 10 points, including two made threes. She also grabbed a career-best eight rebounds and dished out a team-high four assists.
- Amelie Sitterud added six points and grabbed six rebounds, while Allie Cummins scored five points.
- The Spartans trailed by 16 at halftime, 38-22, but used a 17-5 run in the third quarter to get within three points at 45-42 on an Anderson jumper. SJSU cut the halftime deficit in half by the end of the quarter to trail, 58-50, heading into the fourth quarter.
- The Spartans scored 28 points in the third quarter, the most in a quarter this season.
- San José State attempted 40 three-point field goals in the game, the most by a Spartan team since setting the school record with 43 attempts against Saint Mary’s on December 3, 2016.
