PHOENIX - Ben Roseborough recorded a career-high 23 points to go along with three rebounds and two steals to lead the San José State men’s basketball team (5-11, 0-5 MW) in a 76-58 loss to Grand Canyon (10-5, 3-1 MW) Saturday night from Global Credit Union Arena.
The Spartans were without Colby Garland, Jermaine Washington and Yaphet Moundi, their top three leading scorers in the game. Melvin Bell Jr. added a career-high 17 points and five rebounds, while Adrian Myers chipped in seven points and five boards.
Grand Canyon took an early lead to begin the game, building a 42–26 advantage at the break. San José State scored 32 points and briefly cut the deficit to as few as 14 points after a 7-0 run.
The Spartans finished the night shooting 36.5 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from three-point range, while Grand Canyon shot 45.6 percent overall.

- This marked Roseborough’s first career game scoring 20 point or more
- Roseborough is the fourth Spartan to score 20 points or more in a game this season
